Oh, I wrote down this post this morning and meant to post it, but never did: last night I dreamed that the company where I work put me in charge of our next business-critical project: shipping flumps to every single contractor, employee, customer, and prospect. Apparently, according to the slideshow presentation in my dream, flumps are the perfect analogy for digital accessibility: they're long, floppy, and multi-coloured. In the dream, this made perfect sense.

@fastfinge To me, flumps are little creatures from a BBC animated series from the 70s and 80s. A flump looked like a furry globe of a body with a face, and arms and legs sticking out of it, and they each wore a different hat. Grandfather flump played the flumpet and the youngest in the family was named Pootle. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Flumps

@amyisard Haha I've never heard of that show! I'm only familiar with the sweets: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flumps_(sweet)

@fastfinge Dreams having their own language and logic happens a lot to me in dreams! Happened even more when I was younger. That's why I say no matter how great dream sequences in fiction are, they're never quite bizarre enough.

@Fragglemuppet My big problem with dreams in fiction is that they're always foreshadowing, or they mean something. If you search the fedidreams hashtag, you'll see that mine almost never do.

@fastfinge Also, thanks for that hashtag. When I post mine, which isn't often, I use both and . It's nice to have something more unified.

@Fragglemuppet Please do join in! I invented it, but I'm the only one using it. I used to post daily, but the time pressure was just too much. So I stopped. Writing stuff out in comprehensible and also entertaining English just took a lot of brainpower, that I didn't want to devote to nightly dreams about turning into a hippo, or inheriting a tax accountant themed amusement park from my uncle, or whatever.
