However, if you're Windows is so broken that it can't boot, and you use the system recovery option, and it can't access the internet, it won't be able to get your bitlocker key that's associated with your Microsoft account. So it will give you a url to visit on your phone, where you sign in with your Microsoft account, and then it will give you a long string of numbers. You type those numbers into the broken computer, and then it can decrypt your bitlocker encrypted drive.
