I've been spending too much time on Royal Road lately. As much as I dislike Amazon, Kindle Unlimited is how the authors writing the things I want to read make a living. Well, "living" might be overstating it a bit. Never-the-less, I can't afford to subscribe to fifty Patreons, and at least someone, somewhere, gets something if I read on KU. Problem is that Royal Road is way better at pushing me books I enjoy than Amazon/Goodreads are, and literally none of the openweb book sites (bookworm, etc.) seem to have any readers at all. So anyone wanna sell me on something on ? Right now, I'm looking for or , and smut are okay as long as there's also plot, only if the main character is a sweetheart, and I have a slight preference for or , or fun offbeat main characters. I'm in the mood for something that vaguely matches the vibes of stuff like Terminate the Other World! by Icalos, Courier Quest by Flossindune, This Used To Be About Dungeons by Alexander Wales, or Beesong Chronicles by Benjamin Medrano. Please don't recommend anything by Logan Jacobs or Eric Vall; they always sound okay, but end up disappointing me. Kindle Unlimited isn't a hard requirement, I'll buy a book if it matches the above vibes and isn't on KU.

Also, the have more rights than us humans. Blind folks had to fight for years and years for copyright exemptions that would allow us to access and read books. The AI bots are just allowed to read as many books as they want, and swallow entire libraries whole. Yup; I'd definatly be better off as a bot.

@matt Both Chat GPT 4 and Claud generally can. And now that they all have various ways of using tools, they can even click on the correct picture. However, it's against the terms of service of both services, and you need to come up with a prompt clever enough to jailbreak them. For the squiggly letter captchas that some sites still use, even Windows OCR can get them in one or two tries.

If your , does nothing to protect your . They use , so if you can’t see the images, you have to enable cross site cookies and give them a valid email. And if you want to contact signal about it, sending your device info via unencrypted email is the default way. This is not how privacy or work. You’re better off with iMessage. Or even watsapp! At least they don’t hand your data over to a third party captcha provider. Or send your device info via unencrypted email.

Edit: thanks to the fediverse, I was alerted that Signal can be contacted in other ways. But you have to go look for them; pressing the "get support" button in the app sends an unencrypted email with a link to your device logs. I have edited this post for accuracy.
