Bell killed my fiber connection for an hour between 2:15 and 3:15. There might be a requirement to bring back a secondary connection, despite the cost. Gurh! Well, at least I still have the dual-WAN scripts in place on the router. And I definitely know they work. When Bell was a craptastic DSL connection, and in the backup position, and Rogers went down in July of 2022 for nine hours, I didn't even know it happened until I started seeing the then Twitter feed explode, LOL. Switchover is generally around 30- seconds. Rogers, please give me a deal? LOL.

@fastfinge Interesting. Perhaps. My closest major intersection is Bank and Herron. I'm fed by Bell CO OTWAON10 at 1501 Bank street.

@fastfinge I'd guess certainly a different CO, so likely a wider outage for sure.

@adam Every time we get one of these outages I check for IPv6. I’m always disappointed lol

@fastfinge LOL. I've been doing the same thing as of late, since people on DSLReports keep getting my hopes up with posts that their buyout companies have it. So why the hell can't they? Yes, the inevitable disappointment.

@adam Soon I’ll be forced to switch. Work is talking about making it mandatory for vpn access. Not sure I want to trust my janky solution for the thing that pays me.

@fastfinge Don't quote me, but I do believe Bell Business offers IPv6. But not sure if that's only with their active fiber and wavelength services. Some how, I tend to think the PON Fiber is probably not v6 enabled even for business. But have no experience, nor no reliable info source, so I'm just talking BS that I heard that may or may not be true or accurate, LOL.
