Another random thing that made me happy tonight: I discovered that at some point #wordweb added a feature to disable linking of words in addon dictionaries. That makes reading definitions with a #screenreader much faster. It's a bit expensive, but if you frequently find yourself resorting to Google, or even worse #AI, to define words for you, it's worth the money and is largely #accessible as well: wordweb.info#a11y
@fastfinge Great to hear! I used to use WordWeb. I'm trying to remember why I stopped, whether it was an accessibility issue, or I just didn't want to pay for it. Someone was asking about a program which did basically what WordWeb does the other day, so it's good to know it IS accessible in any case.
@NVAccess Oh, also: in the OED addon dictionary, where word pronunciations are available, you can't press play with the keyboard. You have to route the mouse to the play emoji and left click it. Stuff like this is why I say it's "largely accessible". If you want to type a word, press enter, and read a definition and synonyms, you'll be happy. But things get dodgy when you venture off the beaten path.
