They were getting some sleep, and I was fiddling with a Linux laptop attempting to get sound working. However, whatever I did somehow made a loud alarm blast out of all the speakers in my house! This woke everyone up. My friends, being the easy-going and forgiving lot they are, tied a rope to a light fixture in my house, and used it to hang me. I really should have been able to realize I was dreaming and become lucid in this one; in real life, sound on Linux doesn't work no matter what you do.
