If you present as a woman in her 20’s and you message me for any reason, we’re starting from the assumption that you’re actually a 40 year old dude with a crypto scam he wants to get me involved in. Not because I have negative feelings towards women, but because as an obviously straight white dude, that’s the pattern that every single scammer who contacts me uses. So if a man contacts me for something it’s far less likely to make my scam radar go off. I really don’t know what to do with that. Maybe this is what equality feels like? I can only assume that every time I talk to any woman online she’s assuming I’m a creep who eventually wants to send her unwanted dick pics. Even if I, like, just think her fanfic is cool or whatever.
