seasonal musicWhatever maniac on #Apple Music's #holiday hits station decided that Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen is a #Christmas#song needs to be fired. Then hired, so that they can be fired all over again! It's not Christmas #music just because it mentions a character from the Bible one time!
seasonal music@fastfinge This is true. That being said, it does reference samson in verse 2, even if his name wasn't actually given. But yeah, that's still not enough to classify the tune as a Christmas song.
seasonal music@fastfinge Whenever I think of Jewish names, as odd as it is, I tend to come up with more female names than male. Rachel, Sarah, Ester, Ruth, Naomi, Etc.
seasonal music@jdking92 I think because the female Jewish names from the Bible are more used in the modern day. Other than David, of course. But you don't encounter too many Ehud's today.
seasonal musicOkay Apple, it's only the middle of November, and you've already had far too much eggnog. Whatever this abomination of a sexy sounding woman sensually covering The Chipmunks is, it needs to stop existing.
seasonal music@fastfinge Not only that, it's actually quite dark. I believe it's about a relationship ending... and hmm, what's this bit about I wonder?
"She tied you to a kitchen chair She broke your throne, and she cut your hair And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah"
seasonal music@fastfinge I'd like to suggest that for whoever it was who decided God Only Knows needed to be covered and released on a Christmas album by Pentatonix. Great cover, but Christmas?
seasonal music@austinnix Probably just filler. But apple music has every single Christmas song ever released to choose from! And I haven't heard Fum Fum Fum or Kinderly Is Coming even once! Or Martin Said to His Man! Or even Gaudete!
seasonal music@fastfinge I wish it was strictly Apple's fault but every holiday season I always, always, always hear that song. And yes, you're right. A Christmas song it is not.
