@TheQuinbox FYI Fedra works fine with Iceshrimp.net. The only thing I'm missing is a way to display people by username. People change their names far too often; I'd rather just see everyone as whatever at whatever dot net, no display name at all.
@fastfinge@TheQuinbox I don't change my displayname for that reason, don't wanna confuse people. The only time I do adjust it is at Christmas, but I kept it simple.
@alexchapman@TheQuinbox I also just like having it the same in the reply box as on the post. And I need to know your instance at all times so that I may judge you! LOL JK
@fastfinge I plan to add a templates tab that'll let you customize literally everything about how items are displayed in probably 0.2.0, and if not then 0.3.0. Glad to hear it's working!
@TheQuinbox Yay! While I'm complaining, applications key or shift+f10 should probably open the posts menu on the selected post, instead of having to go to the menu bar. But that's just niggling haha.
@TheQuinbox The only reason I'd want a dialogue is if it was a web view that just showed the HTML version of the post content. Because everyone but Mastodon lets people format posts with lists and links and stuff. At least FastSM will actually recognize formatted links now. But it along with every other accessible client just gets rid of all other formatting. Whereas Fedra will actually let me write formatted posts if I want, seeing as my server allows that. God this is so good I can finally stop using enafore for things.
@jscholes@fastfinge Yeah, that is actually an excellednt idea that I had not considered. Mastodon posts can, afterall, be HTML, so we should render it as such, or render the markdown into HTML.
@fastfinge@TheQuinbox +1 to this, I mentioned that to Quin previously as well. Also does it support the hated quote-post? I hate seeing: re: <long url> then post. Is there a way to see the actual thing? I pulled thread and just saw the same old post. In TC when I do that, I see the original post as well.
@fastfinge@TheQuinbox I don't even like quote posting but if my timeline is going to be full of the bastard things, might as well read some of them at least... Sigh.
@FreakyFwoof@fastfinge Not yet, in part because my instance doesn't actually support quotes. I need to get off my lazy ass and figure out enough about sysadmining that server to update it, or just try on another server. I want to do it though.
@TheQuinbox@FreakyFwoof I can give you an account here if you want. Then you can also access the nice swagger API documentation at fed.interfree.ca/swagger. Lets you view the iceshrimp API, the mastodon API, and the federation API, and make test calls to all the things to see how they work.
