Yay! We can now send and receive both OMEMO versions! It only took, like, three days to exchange basic text messages via #xmpp, using an already developed library. On the other hand, we now have a really solid base for...the nine billion other things we need to do. At some point I'm going to want interop testing volunteers who use conversations and gajim, because those clients aren't #accessible so I can't make sure they work. But that'll probably be in a few months. Also, TIL I learned that there's really no good C# library to do #PGP. So I'm not.
@fastfinge Is there anything in particular in #Conversations_im that you struggle with? We regularly conduct accessibility audits and I've heard from other visually impaired people that Conversations works for them. Your milage may vary. I'm not saying everything is perfect. I'm saying we are willing to listen.
@daniel The primary thing I struggle with is talkback on Android. You've done the best you can with what Android has given you, honestly. But the flaws in talkback mean some things are just never going to work as smoothly as they should. That's not to say IOS is perfect, but it's far easier to create an accessible IM app on that platform.
