We recently had a planned power outage while they did work on the grid. Annoying, but it happens, they gave us notice and we could plan around it....

Now they sent us an email WITH A SURVEY on our experience with the power outage?!? What are they looking for here.... Uh.... Five stars, I recommend power outages to all my friends! My old power company constantly delivered electricity. This got very expensive.... But now, with POWER OUTAGE*, I'm saving money every time!

*power outage is not for everyone, please consult your electricity supplier if symptoms continue for 48 hours or longer.

@Quentin But remember that if you don't answer every question with five out of five stars, the executives use it as an excuse to fire minimum wage employees, and make sure living wage employees don't get bonuses this year. Of course the executives get million dollar bonuses; they thought up the power outage survey that uncovered all those slackers and saved the company literally thousands of dollars by firing them!

@Quentin If you do answer every question five out of five stars, it means the company is probably spending too much money on customer service. Now they know they're doing so well they can afford to fire a few minimum wage employees. This is the purpose of surveys: they justify whatever the leadership already wanted to do.

@fastfinge Ah, so in both cases, laziness is the best option - by not filling out the survey, they don't have data to manipulate!

@Quentin Nobody filled out the survey? Our minimum wage employe in charge of surveys is useless! We should fire them!
