For those complaining about how often Freight Fate posts to Mastodon, need I remind you that, A. the feature is optional and can be disabled. B. there is a hashtag, #FreightFateRuns, that can be filtered. For the delivery statuses, players are posting that from their clipboard and I have no control over that. Thank you.
@Orinks It really is an extremely obnoxious feature, though. There's no reason anyone who doesn't also play the game would ever want to see those posts.
@fastfinge@Orinks again, the same thing still applies. either filter it, or quietly unfollow the person. the person obviously wants to post it, and it is there timeline, so people shouldn't be aloud to say what they can post, and what they can't. if people are going to insist on this, I will stop being quiet about things I don't wanna see. I don't do that, I just personally skp over them as soon as I see it isn't somnething I wanna read, or if it can be filtered, I filter it.
@JamminJerry@Orinks Sure, but expecting 99 percent of people to put in effort to create and update a lengthy filter list for things that are of interest to maybe one other person, if that, is the height of rudeness and disrespect for other people’s time. I feel the same way about people who post daily weather; I don’t live near them, and updating my filters takes like an hour a week to catch it all.
@fastfinge@JamminJerry Well, users choose to post weather info, AccessiWeather at least doesn't have a way to post up automatically, so that's there choice. Freight Fate has two summaries that people can post. The automatic one on #FreightFateRuns, and an option to copy any delivery summary to the clipboard I have the option of posting when I complete any delivery. Automatic only posts noteworthy deliveries. New achievements, levels etc. Maybe I'll just remove auto because when players start a new career, it will post old achievements again earned on a new career that were already posted about.
@fastfinge@Orinks for mine you filter the #SnarkyWeather hashtag. if people don't put some sort of hashtag on there stuff, then just quietly unfollow the people that post the stuff you don't like, if it is that offensive,/rude to you. I mean like I have said, if people really want me to, I will start complaining about the stuff I don't want to see, and there are several things. I don't do that though. I don't evne consider it rude of them to post it. it is there mastodon account, just like in the twitter days. I just quietly filter it if I can, and if I can't, I just skip it for a while, and if it really annoys me that much, I quietly unfollow the person. it isn't anything against them at all. it is there account, so as far as I am concerened, they can post the things that interest them. if I don't like it, I have options.
@JamminJerry yeah, although I've seen some folks put it behind a content warning, which is a bit less noisy if you don't have them automatically expand. I'm personally with you on this Jerry, there's always options for control, even if it does mean a straight-up unfollow. It's why I don't really get offended by it, I know I post wayy too much nerdy stuff and sometimes get upset, so if that caused someone to unfollow me, understandable. Thing is we're all human sharing this one planet together and no matter how we spin the threads there ain't no way to change that. :) @fastfinge@Orinks
@Tamasg@fastfinge@Orinks I don't use content warnings. we didn't have them on twitter, I feel we don't need them now. again, you don't like the things I post, simply quietly unfollow me. hell I won't even know you did if you do it quietly as I don't look to see how many followers I have a day anyway. choice is a beautiful thing. excersize it.

Anyway, yes, if you don't like something, you have way, way too many options; filter, mute, block, unfollow. Read filtering guides, get the words/hashtags, whatever, go on the web, filter it out. Literally 5 seconds.
And if people are actually going to post that all the time, cws aren't a bad thing. It literally is about, "skip me if you don't care about what I post."
That's what a CW is all about, so people are notified. Also, please don't call each other labels, this is not good behaviour, be good to each other.
If you have the time to reply to posts, to label people, and to argue with people creating unnecessary drama, then you have five seconds to filter out what you don't want to see on your timeline. Sorry not sorry, but that's the truth. And is also personal experience -- if I have the time to argue with you, then I have the time to stop arguing for the sake of arguing, and actually do what I was supposed to do in the first place, so drama and arguing don't happen. That's all from me.
